La Catedral Vieja de Salamanca, joya del románico en España de S-XII y XIII, se comenzó a construir por iniciativa del Obispo Jerónimo de Perigod hacia el año 1120.
Sus torres, claustro, capillas, sarcófagos policromados, capiteles, pinturas, columnas y su maravilloso cimborrio escamado, nos dejarán un recuerdo artístico imborrable; además de su Altar Mayor presidido por la conocida imagen de la Virgen de la Vega, patrona de ciudad, una pequeña talla del S-XII.

The Old Cathedral of Salamanca belong to the romanesque treasure of Spain, 12th and 13th century, its began to build by initiative of bishop Jeronimo of Perigod about the year 1120.
Their towers, cloister, chapels, polychromes sarcophagus, capitals, paintings, columns and the wonderful dome left us and indelible happy memorie of this.
The high altar presided by the image of knew as the Virgen de la Vega, patron of the city, with a small sculpture of the 12th century.
