Produced by Debesh Gosh it is directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rakhee, Vinod Mehra, Shreeram Lagoo, A. K. Hangal, Asrani, Farida Jalal, Keshto Mukherjee and Asit Sen. The fims music is by R. D. Burman. Raakhee Gulzar (born August 15, 1947 in India), is an Indian Bollywood actress originally from the state of West Bengal. Raakhee Gulzar's career spans from the late 1960s to 2003. Raakhee won rave reviews for her first Bengali film Badhu Baran 1967 in Calcutta after which she was offered the lead role in her first Hindi film, Rajshri Productions Jeevan Mrityu with Dharmendra in 1970. She shot to fame in the 1971 film Sharmilee where she played a double role opposite Shashi Kapoor. She has since starred in many more Hindi blockbuster films most notably Kabhie Kabhie (1976), Muqaddar Ka Sikander (1977), Trishul (1978), Kaala Patthar (1979) Lawaaris (1981) Jurmana (1979) and Bemisal (1982) all with Amitabh Bachchan . She also did some memorable films like Daag (1973), Tapasya (1976) . She also acted in other Bengali films such as Paroma (1984). Towards the mid 1980s and 1990s she played elderly mother or supporting roles in films such as Ram Lakhan (1989), Baazigar (1993), Khalnayak (1993), Karan Arjun (1995), Border (1997), Soldier (1998) and Baadshah (1999). Her last film was Shubho Muhurat in 2003 for which she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress and she has since retired from the film industry. While still a teenager, Raakhee had an arranged marriage to Bengali film director Ajay Biswas, which ended shortly and unhappily thereafter. She is now married to famous film director, poet and lyricist Gulzar. She has separated from Gulzar but never divorced him. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2003. She has a daughter called Meghna (Bosky) who had directed two films named Filhaal starring Sushmita Sen, Tabu, Sanjay Suri and Palaash Sen and Just Married starring Fardeen Khan and Esha Deol. Meghna also directed one of the part Puranmasi of Sanjay Gupta's Dus Kahaniyaan.

After Khoya Khoya Chand, the maverick scriptwriter cum director Sudhir Mishra is all set to produce his next film titled Sikandar. The film will be directed by Piyush Jha. As he pursues a ?mystery? woman, Urmilla, a scuffle ensues between Sanjay, Jimmy, Urmilla?s date and Jimmy?s business partner (Rehaan). A shot gets fired. Jimmy is a wheelchair cripple for life. Sanjay spends three years in jail where all sorts of bad things happen to him. Rehaan?s wife, Juhi, bails him out. Urmilla is now about to get married to Jimmy. Sanjay can?t get her out of his mind. And Rehaan is an abusive, suspicious, wife-hitting man who now suspects Juhi of having an affair with Sanjay. The conversation is nice and realistic, especially in the beginning, before the madness begins. The film gets darker and more morbid as time progresses and makes for painful watching. The only relief comes from the song ?Tere Bin? and some good performances from Urmilla, Juhi and Sanjay. But you don?t understand any of the five principal characters in the film ? each one seeming more psychotic than the other. And later, when they decide to accept the petrol pump given as compensation, their struggle in actually getting it up and running in the face of indifferent army and callous government bureaucrats, who each demand their pound of flesh. In between, we have the debut of the delectable Gul Panag, who lights up the screen with her smile and later looks lovely even in grief as she plays the ?widowed? fiancee. Om Puri excels as the father who alternates between grief and fury at the way the government works.
