Out of the almost 50 most beautiful girls from all parts of USA, 24-year old Rima Fakih has been hailed the fairest in the recently concluded Miss USA 2010 . The pageant was held at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. This brunette from Michigan almost stumbled in her evening gown because its train was getting in the way, but was able to recover her poise and best the others. The question thrown at her during the interview was whether or not birth control should be paid for by health insurance and she said it should be because it?s costly. She also added, ?I believe that birth control is just like every other medication even though it?s a controlled substance.? Fakih replaced 2009 Miss USA Kristen Dalton and she will represent USA in the upcoming 2010 Miss Universe . The runner-ups are: Miss Oklahoma USA Morgan Elizabeth Woolard, Miss Virginia USA Samantha Evelyn Casey, Miss Colorado USA Jessica Hartman, and Miss Maine USA Katherine Ashley Whittier. In what has been billed locally as the first Arab-American to win, Michigan?s Rima Fakih won the Miss USA pageant tonight. The 24-year-old brunette from Michigan beat out four blondes and 46 other women for the 2010 Miss USA title after nearly stumbling in her evening gown. Fakih won the pageant Sunday night after swimsuit, evening gown and interview competitions. During the competition, Fakih nearly fell while finishing her walk in a long, strapless gown because of the length of its train, but she recovered without a spill and went on to win. In the interview, Fakih was asked whether she thought birth control should be paid for by health insurance, and she said she believed it should. Meanwhile, runner up Miss Oklahoma Morgan Elizabeth Woolard said she supported AZ?s anti-immigration law. Miss Oklahoma USA Morgan Elizabeth Woolard was first runner-up after handling a question about Arizona?s new immigration law. She said she supports it. Detroit Free Press did a long profile of Fakih earlier today?detailing not only how Arab-American anti-discrimination groups funded some of Fakih?s earlier pageant competitions?including the swimsuit competitions, but also how she was raised in Catholic schools, with her family celebrating both Muslim and Christian holidays. Fakih, a Lebanese immigrant , told pageant organizers her family celebrates both Muslim and Christian faiths. She moved to the United States as a baby and was raised in New York, where she attended a Catholic school. Her family moved to Michigan in 2003. Pageant officials said historical pageant records were not detailed enough to show whether Fakih was the first Arab American, Muslim or immigrant to win the Miss USA title . The pageant started in 1952 as a local bathing suit competition in Long Beach, Calif. Fakih told reporters she sold her car after graduating college in Michigan to help pay for her run in the Miss Michigan USA pageant .
