Hangal, Asrani, Farida Jalal, Keshto Mukherjee and Asit Sen. The fims music is by R. D. Burman. Raakhee Gulzar (born August 15, 1947 in India), is an Indian Bollywood actress originally from the state of West Bengal. Raakhee Gulzar's career spans from the late 1960s to 2003. Raakhee won rave reviews for her first Bengali film Badhu Baran 1967 in Calcutta after which she was offered the lead role in her first Hindi film, Rajshri Productions Jeevan Mrityu with Dharmendra in 1970. She shot to fame in the 1971 film Sharmilee where she played a double role opposite Shashi Kapoor. She has since starred in many more Hindi blockbuster films most notably Kabhie Kabhie (1976), Muqaddar Ka Sikander (1977), Trishul (1978), Kaala Patthar (1979) Lawaaris (1981) Jurmana (1979) and Bemisal (1982) all with Amitabh Bachchan . She also did some memorable films like Daag (1973), Tapasya (1976) . She also acted in other Bengali films such as Paroma (1984). Towards the mid 1980s and 1990s she played elderly mother or supporting roles in films such as Ram Lakhan (1989), Baazigar (1993), Khalnayak (1993), Karan Arjun (1995), Border (1997), Soldier (1998) and Baadshah (1999). Her last film was Shubho Muhurat in 2003 for which she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress and she has since retired from the film industry. While still a teenager, Raakhee had an arranged marriage to Bengali film director Ajay Biswas, which ended shortly and unhappily thereafter. She is now married to famous film director, poet and lyricist Gulzar. She has separated from Gulzar but never divorced him. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2003. She has a daughter called Meghna (Bosky) who had directed two films named Filhaal starring Sushmita Sen, Tabu, Sanjay Suri and Palaash Sen and Just Married starring Fardeen Khan and Esha Deol. Meghna also directed one of the part Puranmasi of Sanjay Gupta's Dus Kahaniyaan.

Poor Suzi in ' The Evening in Paris ', the heroine Deepa's twin sister, lost in childhood. Not only does the hero, Sam detest her for smoking, drinking, and asking for a kiss, her long-lost father rejects her too because she dances in a night club. As if it was her fault she was kidnapped when she was a kid by a drunkard villain. Even at the end, hit by bullets, she is passed on by Sam to his friend, Rajendra Nath to take care of her, and that's the last we see of her. Did she recover, did she die? Who cares, as long as Deepa is fine. Not my favourite double role. Though Sharmila Tagore looks delectable. Dhanno says she is the prettiest heroine she has ever seen. My favourites in some sort of order are ' Seeta Aur Geeta ', ' Ram aur Shyam ' and ' Sharmilee '. The first and the last, not least, I guess because both Hema Malini and Raakhee are at their most gorgeous best. 'Ram aur Shyam' because Dilip Kumar is astounding. Amitabh Bachchan does not do that well in ' The Great Gambler ', both Jai and Vijay look and behave in the same way. Shahrukh Khan does much more with his double role in ' Om Shanti Om '. Somehow I can't seem to remember that many double roles in Hollywood films, except the twins in 'Parent Trap' and of course, the roles were played by twins. Though I love Baby Sonia in the Hindi take-off ' Do Kaliyan ' better. I suppose The Star loves himself so much, and we love The Star so much, what could be better than 2 of him in t ...
