Last announcement-Aakhiri Munadi is written and directed by an National School of Drama (.N.S.D) student Ahsan Bakhsh. Who himself is also an actor. The Sony TV fame TV serial Amber Dhara was also written by him. Amber Dhara was the story of two sisters, who were born joined. The film is produced by well Known Ad Company Graphisads and known film PR company H.S.Communication. Harish Sharma, H.S. Communication said, As a producer this is my first film and it is selected in Italy film Festival.This has given me motivation to produce film related to our culture , society and rich heritage. Aakhiri Munadi is shoot in Cities of Uttranchal like Almora & Haldwani. Film predicts the story of a messenger Puran Singh who has pride on his voice and his Drum (Nagara). People of the town had faith in the announcement made by Puran Singh and believe that whatever he says is true. One day he came to know that Chairman of municipal, misused him and his voice. At the end of his last announcement he revealed the reality of the chairman to the people of the town and after his announcement the chairman was not seen anywhere in town. Mukesh Gupta , Graphisads said, I am very close to my culture and traditions, when I heard the story I immediately agreed to produce it and I am happy for the decision I had taken. And in Future will jointly make such films. The character of Puran Singh is played by Alok Kumar. Some other characters are played by Suresh sharma, Reeta Devi, D.N.Bhatt, Anil Ghindiyal etc.with camera man Narendra Ghindyal and music by Aslam Kaily. River to River Italy film festival will be held from 5th to 11th December 2008. It will take place in Florence. 8th River to River, Italy film festival is a tribute to Raj Kappor. The people of Italy and Europe believes that Raj Kapoor is the Charlie Chaplin of 1950s decade. The Jury of the festival is also from Bollywood feternity, like director Kunal kohili, Indra Kumar, R.Balki & director of recently hit film Golmaal Returns Rohit Shetty and director of festival Silvazia will be there too. Every frame of Saawariya is a visual poem. I have said this quite a few times in this blog lately, I have to repeat it again - Hindi films are going places, where they have never been before. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for creatic cinematic verses like Devdas(which I didn't like much), Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam(again not one of my favorites although not due to the treatment but due to my basic dislike of the core story), Khamoshi etc. This is perhaps the first Bhansali film that left a positive impression on me. As is the case with most things in life, it is good to watch a film without expectations. Ranbir, son of yesteryear Bollywood stars, Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor and the namesake of his grandad Raj Kapoor(Raj Kapoor's real name was Ranbir Raj Kapoor) stars opposite Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam(yet another Bollywood Kapoor, but totally unrelated to the first khandaan of Indian cinema - The original Kapoors which includes Ranbir's whole family right from his great grand dad Prithviraj Kapoor to Raj Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor and so on.) Based of Dostoevsky's story White Nights and translated in to tinsel by Bhansali and his art-director Omung Kumar, Saawariya is a Bollywood musical in the tradition of old style musicals. Although they took the elevator to Bollywood by the virtue of their birth when many others are still panting up the stairs, Ranbir and Sonam do exhibit a flair for acting. March 14, 1931 was a historic day for Indian cinema. Ardeshir Irani of Imperial Movie tone released 'Alam Ara', the first full length Indian ?talkie' film at the Majestic cinema in Mumbai. The 10,500?foot-long costume and fantasy drama was made in Hindi and Urdu. The film ended the golden age of silent films and marked Indian cinema's stepping into the ?talkie' era. 'Raja Harish chandra', directed by Dadasaheb Phalke in 1913, was the first silent feature film made in India. By the 1930s, the industry was producing over 200 films per year. 'Alam Ara' starred Master Vithal, Zubeida, Jillo, J. Sushila, Prithviraj Kapoor, Elizer, Mohammed Khan, Jagdish Sethi and L.V.Prasad. The film had music by Ferozshah M. Mistri and B. Irani, and had seven songs. Both the film and its music were widely successful, including the popular song, De de khuda ke naam per, which was also the first song of Indian cinema. Anand Math is based on Bankim Chandra Chatterjee's novel. It is famous for the song Vande Matram. But I have always been haunted by how Prithviraj Kapoor (Satyananda) keeps chanting "Hare Murare". This song - Jai Jagdish Hare - is just amazing and haunting... specially Geeta Dutt's voice. Only she could sing this way and give this effect. There was another such song in Pyaasa (Aaj sajan mohe ang laga lo). But this one with music from Hemant Kumar (in my view, one of the most underestimated Music Composer) is just brilliant!
