WONG: A court in the Indian capital of New Delhi has dismissed a Warner Bros lawsuit against the makers of the Bollywood film Hari Puttar. Warner Brothers claimed there were similarities to title and content of the film 'Harry Potter.' Heres more. STORY: Its about a young boy fighting two criminals who try to steal a secret formula. The movie was due to open in cinemas here on September 12th. But it was delayed because of legal action by Warner Bros which controls the rights to the 'Harry Potter' series in India. But Mirchi Movies, who is releasing the film, says Puttar means son in Punjabi language and has nothing to do with the Harry Potter movies. Warner Bros had taken three years to bring the case to court which counted against them. [Pratibha Singh, Mirchi Movies Attorney]: "Justice Reva Khanna said that because they delayed it from 2005, Warner Bros cannot get the stay. Also, the lower courts have maintained that there are no similarities between the stories of the two movies." The producers of 'Hari Puttar' say they registered the title more than two years ago and hope to release it to theaters this week.

The story starts when Fruity's friend Bunty catches a dove to give his friend to do an experiment. Bunty and his friend are not good people for they wanted to capture Son Pari and show her to the world and get lots of money and get rich in return. So Fruity takes the dove and sets it free. What Fruity doesn't know is that the bird is actually Son Pari. She often comes to Earth by the permission of her [fairy godmother] called Pari Ma. Fruity's mother died long ago and she always goes to the terrace to see the stars because she thinks her mother has become one of them and on one such night Son Pari comes to her and offers her friendship for Fruity as she had once helped her. Fruity quickly accepts her friendship to get rid of her loneliness. Then starts the story of their strange friendship. Son Pari and Altu start meeting Fruity regularly. They also help her get rid of Ruby, a girl who wants to marry Fruity's father, Rohit, for the sake of his money and Ruby's brother helps Ruby but Son Pari and Altu make sure they don't succeed. The 54th National Film Awards were awarded by Indian President Pratibha Patil at the Vigyan Bhawan in the Capital on Tuesday after a delay of almost one year. This award was the 54th National Film awards for the year 2006. It was the country?s regional cinema that dominated the ceremony with Priyanandanan bagging the best film award for his Malyalam film Pulijanmam. Soumitra Chatterjee was named the best actor for Bengali film Podokkhep, while Priyamani was judged best actress for her performance in Tamil film Paruthi Veeran. The Best Popular award went to Sanjay Dutt starrer Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani were present to receive the award. Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Dilip Kumar, veteran actress Saroja Devi and Lata Mangeshkar whose award was collected by Adinath Mangeshkar on her behalf. Filmmaker Tapan Sinha was awarded the Dada Saheb Phalke Award that was collected by Anandya Sinha in his place. CNN-IBN?s video journalist N Dinesh Rajkumar recieved a national award for Best First Film in the Non-Fiction category. Veteran Bengali film Director Tapan Sinha has been selected for the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award for the year 2006. Director Tapan Sinha who is 84 now, has won 19 National Film awards. He would be given a Swarna Kamal, cash prize of Rs 10 lakh and a shawl by the President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil. Tapan Sinha started his career in Kolkata?s new theatre in 1946. Some of his greatest creations are ?Kabuliwala?, ?Khudito Pashaan?, ?Atithi?, ?Upahar?, ?Haatey Bazarey?, ?Sagina Mahato?, ?Bancharamer Bagan?.
