Raavan is a forthcoming Hindi film written and directed by Mani Ratnam. It stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Vikram in the lead roles while Govinda, Ravi Kishan, Nikhil Dwivedi, Tejaswini Kolhapure and Priyamani play key supporting roles.

It is simultaneously being made in Tamil as Raavanan with a slightly different cast, which would also be dubbed into Telugu and other regional languages. The film score and soundtrack is composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. The film is expected to be released on June 18, 2010.

Acclaimed director Mani Ratnam has been honoured with Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award at the Venice Film Festival held on 6th September. Announced this at Cannes, just before the launch of Mani Ratnam's Film Raavan, Venice Film Festival director Marco Muller said, Mani Ratnam is one of the greatest innovators in contemporary Indian Cinema. He helped introduce the auteur concept to contemporary Bollywood. We are very proud to honour the work of the great Indian director Mani Ratnam.

In addition to Mr. Mani Ratnam, Mrs. Suhasini, Maniratnam, Mr. Vikram, Mr.Abhishek Bachchan and Ms.Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are attendrd the 67.Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica (67th Venice International Film Festival.)

The Award Ceremony happened on September 6th and Raavanan (Tamil) & Raavan (Hindi) has screened.

Raavanan (Tamil) & Raavan (Hindi) will also take part in the PUSAN International Film Festival in October 2010.

The actress, who is basking with the success of Telugu movie Dookudu, has been signed by none other than Mani Ratnam for his next project, which is tentatively titled Pookadai. analyse these scenes i am fan of mani ratnam i loved these scenes in his movies 1. in guru when abhishek tries to console his BIL who feels he is not sharing his concerns with him and he wants to be taken seriously. his BIL tell ash negatively abt abhi to make her take him less seriously he tels her " u have bcom blind in his love" i like abhis reactn here to his BIL noteworthy also in GURU when he keeps smiling at ash when she cries over a stupid person who ditches her. also humours her father! 2. in yuva when abhi finds rani is preg he creates an emotional scene as per her reactions and then shows he is not moved also in yuva when he shows exagerrated respect to leader in mike testing scene and he asks him if he is humouring him? 3. In roja when arvind swami drops his wife in the snow unable to lift her i feel these r some of his best too althgh they r small pl! tell ur favrt scenes my favrt hero salman his single status adds to his appeal he is best humourist on and off screen as he is a happy person a delight. i love in HDDCS when he tells ash bfore ur gharwale tie dhoti we have ample time to leave, and tells her ur baba thinks i am a "cool dude" also liek ajay when he doesnt tell ash he had left witht her in the tram scene also when he says i know!! when she tells him u r good person. in yuva i like the shot of him in the bike top angle in the suno suno song. he is also best in humour! these people teach u a lot in personality devlmnt not money. u can learn by observing them also more abt urself ur weakness etc., can be corrected witht trouble of real acting classes crtics r jobless Jokers!!!
