Iron Eyes Cody was the "Crying Indian " in a public service commercial on the 2nd Earth day in 1971. In the commercial he said "People start pollution; People can stop it", and as he said it a single tear ran down his face. The ad was a part of Keep America Beautiful , which is still quite active. My piece today is "Iron Eyes Cody for Peace". How about "People start War; People can stop it" . Just think how effective a public service ad would be with a child saying that, as a single tear runs down their cheek. I don't know about you , but I would probraly have tears running down mine. It has been found that over 500 companies around the world has been led by Indian origin executives. It is known that the Indians are intelligent people and maybe this might be reason why so many Indians are so successful in business. Indians work in business oriented companies and they reach very high position because of their talent. Indians were in business from the very beginning in the history of Mankind. They are good in trading and calculating profit and loss. While there are seven Indian companies on this year?s Global Fortune 500 list, up from six last year, at least five other members of this league have been run by persons of Indian-origin over the past year. Among these companies, Citigroup, ranked 17th in the list prepared on the basis of the companies? annual revenue, has Nagpur-born Pandit as its CEO since December last year. Citi is followed ArcelorMittal, which has billionaire steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal as its CEO and main promoter, at 39th rank and Vodafone at 85th. Vodafone?s India-origin CEO Arun Sarin is, however, resigning from this position later this month after leading the world?s largest mobile player for past five years. Other firms are beverages major Pepsico (184) and financial services entity Hartford Financial Services (311). Pepsico is headed by Indra Nooyi while Hartford Financial is led by Ramani Ayer.
