Her last film was Shubho Muhurat in 2003 for which she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress and she has since retired from the film industry. While still a teenager, Raakhee had an arranged marriage to Bengali film director Ajay Biswas, which ended shortly and unhappily thereafter. She is now married to famous film director, poet and lyricist Gulzar. She has separated from Gulzar but never divorced him. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2003. She has a daughter called Meghna (Bosky) who had directed two films named Filhaal starring Sushmita Sen, Tabu, Sanjay Suri and Palaash Sen and Just Married starring Fardeen Khan and Esha Deol. Meghna also directed one of the part Puranmasi of Sanjay Gupta's Dus Kahaniyaan.

His dreams land him in trouble when he misbehaves with Rajkumari Poonam, and is expelled from the orphanage. He seeks works as a masseur and goes to work with Prince Pratap Singh, who hires him, is so happy with his work, that he would like him to impersonate him and thus fulfill his dream of becoming a Prince.
