Chocolate (2008) fight clips! Starring: JeeJa Yanin Ammara Siripong Hiroshi Abe Dechawut Chuntakaro Kittitat Kowahagul Yanin Vismitananda Director: Pracha Pinkaew Writers: Chukiat Sakveerakul (screenplay), Nepalee Sakweerakul (screenplay) Plot: "An autistic woman with powerful martial art skills looks to settle her ailing mother's debts by seeking out the ruthless gangs that owe her family money." This is a good Thai film from the director of Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong aka The Protector. If you like Ong Bak then you will like this film. This is from the Malaysian original dvd version of this film with English subtitles. So buy the original film and support it if you like it. This film comes out in the UK cinema in October 2008. Please enjoy these fight clips but don't forget that without Hong Kong movies Chocolate, Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong would not have been made. Thai action cinema is still in its infancy and cannot be compared or labelled 'better' than the Hong Kong film industry which has been making movies (with wirework) since the silent era. If you're gonna copy choreography ideas and filming techniques then I guess you might as well copy from the best, i.e. Hong Kong. Here's my analysis of the 3 fight scenes uploaded here. You may agree or disagree with me but that's ok. JeeJa Yanin is amazing and I do like her but I do feel that she looked a little awkward doing the Bruce Lee impressions in the first fight scene. This is the weakest of the 3 fight scenes uploaded here in my opinion. The second fight borrows heavily from Hong Kong movies, especially Jackie Chan films. I see references to Project A, Dragons Forever (unfortunately JeeJa Yanin is not as graceful as Yuen Biao between the fence railings), and Rumble In The Bronx, etc. Although she looks a bit stiff in some part, I still enjoyed this fight scene. The third fight scene in the meat market is the best of the 3 and contains some original ideas. This is my favourite fight scene from the 3 uploaded here. I do like JeeJa Yanin as stated earlier and shall look forward to her next movie. However, my only criticism of Chocolate and Ong Bak is that the enemies are despatched too easily with 1 or 2 hits. I would like to see longer exchanges and enemies that are a bit harder to get rid of. However, Kudos to the Thai stuntmen which makes JeeJa Yanin and Tony Jaa look so good onscreen. They don't get enough credits. They are clearly as brave/crazy as the Hong Kong stuntmen. Influences goes round and round so maybe one day, young upcoming Hong Kong film makers will be copying from Chocolate and Ong Bak. And I am absolutely fine with that. I always like Jackie Chan movie as this one have some good action scenes with funny moments as well. Important thing is all those action sequence are original one and Jackie Chan performed himself. But now Jet Li is perfect substitute for Jackie Chan. But my first choice is Jackie Chan instead of... ...

Ok, so what do you guys think of Jackie Chan and his movies? I was talking to a friend about this at school and he believes "Jackie Chans' movies are terrible, he cant speak english properly, he isnt funny, his movies are cheesy and lame, all he is good at is kung fu" Thats basically his side of the story in a nutshell, I dont agree lol.. What do you guys think!? ...
