OP DUTTA PASSES AWAY OP DUTTA PASSES AWAY OP Dutta (1920s -- 9 February 2012) was an Indian filmmaker and writer. He began his career in 1948. He directed nine films until 1959, after which he became writing dialogue, scripts, and stories for films. He has written most of the films directed by his son, JP Dutta, most notably Border and LOC Kargil. In 2001, he won the Award of the International Indian Film Academy and the Filmfare Award for his work. In 2006, he won a Lifetime Achievement Award.
